Create QR Codes For Products

Choose your QR Code generator

There are two types of QR Code generators —  Static and Dynamic.

A Static QR Code is created using a Static QR Code Generator, typically at no cost. It embeds a fixed link to your product information hosted on your website and cannot be changed once generated. With our generator, it remains active indefinitely.

Dynamic QR Codes, on the other hand, embed a database URL, enabling you to update the destination anytime through an online system, with basic tracking and analytics included. Unlike static QR Codes, Dynamic QR Codes allow you to change the destination without altering the design.  It operates on a subscription model, enabling you to create a QR Code and update it as many times as needed. We offer various packages to help you efficiently manage your system.

Choose between static and dynamic.

Many businesses struggle with the choice between free Static QR Codes and paid Dynamic QR Codes. If you’re directing customers to pages you control and don’t need tracking, a Static QR Code works—but be sure to test it before printing, as it cannot be changed once created.

For more flexibility, especially if you don’t fully control the URL or want tracking data, a Dynamic QR Code is the better option. The last thing you want is a QR Code on your product leading to a Facebook page that gets hacked or shut down. With a Dynamic QR Code, you can update the destination anytime without reprinting the code.

Choose the destination of the QR Code

Both static and dynamic forms of QR Codes for products will use a URL. This can be to a product page on your website, Facebook or Instagram page or even a YouTube page. It is a great way to involve your clients or get more info and add them to your mailing list.

Enter the URL for the QR Code

Getting users to the destination is as easy as adding a URL for your product. Simply enter the product name under “Title” and specify where the QR Code will be used under “Media Used.” This makes it easier to find later if you have multiple QR Codes.

Below is an example from the Dynamic QR Code Generator, but the Static QR Code Generator follows a similar process.

Decorate Your QR Code

Customization can be done within the QR Code software or through an external program, with the latter being our preferred method. We recommend using Photopea (https://www.photopea.com/), a simplified version of Photoshop that’s user-friendly and highly effective. Once colors are added within the QR Code software, they cannot be modified. However, by using Photopea, you can update your QR Code design anytime without restrictions.

Watch below video tutorial to learn how to decorate your QR code.

Generate and Test Your QR Code

After generating your QR Codes for products, testing is essential. Verify that they direct users to the correct destination and have friends test them on different devices. Most people are familiar with the standard square QR Code format.

Download Your QR Code in Multiple Formats

Once your QR Codes for products is generated, you can download it in four formats: PDF, PNG, SVG, or EPS. SVG and EPS are ideal for printing, while PNG and PDF are commonly used for digital marketing.

Track Performance with Dynamic QR Codes

With Dynamic QR Codes for products, you can monitor scan activity and gain insights. Additionally, you can integrate UTM tracking from Google or other analytics tools for deeper performance analysis.  Watch the video tutorial below to learn about Dynamic QR Code Analytics.

Maximizing QR Codes for Product Marketing

When adding a QR Code to your product, aim to make it as large as possible and conduct thorough testing. Generally, 1.5 cm is the smallest size, but smaller QR Codes can work, particularly for Dynamic ones, as they don’t become as dense with long URLs. For Static QR Codes, using a Bitly URL shortener can significantly reduce lengthy URLs.

Avoid over-decorating smaller QR Codes. Since customers are already familiar with your product, a simple design enhances scanability.

Always review proofs before printing to ensure the QR Codes work correctly and lead to the intended destination.

Dynamic QR Codes are an excellent tool for tracking your marketing efforts. If something isn’t working, you can adjust the destination without altering the QR Code itself.
