As an ex Australian shopping centre manager I know we look for the best way to market our shopping centre and so metrics are important. I also travel around a lot and see that most shopping centres and also just strip malls and individual shops are just using static QR Codes so have no idea how their promotions etc are doing.

Watch this videos from a recent promotion in Singapore and maybe it will stimulate some ideas of how to use QR Codes for Australian Shopping Centres.

What is the difference between static and dynamic QR Codes

A  QR Code stands for “Quick Response”. We are a local business based in Brisbane using Australian servers to deliver Static and Dynamic QR Codes. We can provide both static and dynamic QR Codes for Shopping Centres.

They come in two types.

1. Free Static QR Code Generator which are free and once created cannot be changed.

2. Dynamic QR Codes which the destination is editable and trackable and have a fee for the database..

QR Codes for Shopping Centres can link to a wide range of information and are being used by shopping centres, malls, strip malls and individual shops all over the world.

Shopping centres love dynamic codes as they are self managed and provide some quick stats on the platform then deeper stats in an analytical program like Google Analytics.

As a shopping centre they link your physical marketing with digital content.

As mentioned before static QR Codes cannot be changed once created so have a limited shelf life however you can improve with a little foresight.

As a retail manager you need stats on your marketing and while dynamic QR Codes do this very well you can also use static codes by using the google analytic UTM tracking system.

This makes a very long url and a very dense QR Code however you can compensate by getting the URL shortened by programs like Bitly or tiny url.

They can basically only be used for one promotion however free is an attractive. Use our Free Static QR Code Generator Here.

How to Maximise use of Dynamic QR Codes For Australian Shopping Centres

Dynamic QR Codes are always used with URLs and the destination can be changed at any time so you can print it on material and use it over and over again.

For example you may link to an upcoming event and then after the event link to some video highlights and ask for likes and comments, then link back to your homepage then later in the month to your Facebook page. All the time you are doing this your getting stats on scans etc.

This is all self managed in your grey label online software so you are in full control. No links back to us so you use it as your own.

The added beauty of Dynamic QR Codes is that it has a consistent small data base URL so always produces a low density QR Code great for all application.

How to get your dynamic QR Codes for free

The best thing about our program is that we can offer Dynamic QR Codes for Australian Shopping Centres on a separate customised platform so you can sell your QR Codes to your clients and provide them with their own management.

When you purchase your QR Codes for Australian Shopping Centres you can then assign sub users so they can login and manage it all them selves and you simply change them a fee. For example purchase a 50 package and sell 45 to customers and you will be in profit plus have 5 for yourself to use free.

There is no link back to us so you retain full control.

How to use QR Codes for Australian Shopping Centres in Promotions

Using QR Codes for Shopping Centres is a way for you to tap into the use of emerging technologies. Not only are they beneficial for shopping centres, but they also bring ease and convenience for shopping centre customers.

The process of using QR Codes is effortless — and can only take less than 5 minutes. All your customers have to do is take out their smartphones (or any device with a QR Code reader) and scan away.

Here is the outline of the whole campaign for the introduction video.

Background More than 100 shopping malls were competing for attention during the GSS, which took place from 31 May to 28 July. Vivocity needed an engaging campaign to stand out and grow its social-media reach.

Aim Vivocity wanted to drive foot traffic into tenant shops, expand the mall’s Facebook fan base, and use QR codes in an engaging, memorable and rewarding way.

Execution VivoCity worked with Dog Digital to create a campaign devised around “The VivoCity Codeys”. A family of four life-size QR code mascots, dressed in VivoCity’s corporate colours, roamed the mall on weekends during the month of June, when the GSS was at its peak. Shoppers could scan the codes for instant rewards including discount vouchers, daily prize draws, and entry to a grand prize draw at the end of the GSS. Users were invited to ‘Like’ the VivoCity Facebook page after scanning. They could also double their chance to win if they shared the grand draw on their Facebook wall.

Results The campaign drew 8,618 people to scan the QR codes. The instant reward vouchers drove foot traffic to participating tenant shops, with 302 vouchers being collected. A total of 848 people entered the grand draw. The fan base of the VivoCity Facebook page increased 73 per cent, from 6,039 to 10,439.
